All Together Now, a new, robust exhibition featuring art and design work by current faculty and staff at SDSU School of Art and Design, will open to the public with an artists’ reception on October 14, 2021, from 4:00 - 6:00 pm. The show will run through December 9, 2021, in the school’s University Gallery. Gallery hours this fall are Tuesday through Thursday, 12:00 - 4:00 pm, and by appointment.

All Together Now will feature work from over 32 tenured faculty, lecturers, and staff, representing nearly all areas at the School of Art and Design. Some artworks and artists are responding to the pandemic itself, while others explore themes relating to personal histories, social structures, and visual art as a means of expression. All Together Now is the first public exhibition to take place on campus since March 2019.

“All Together Now is a timely exhibition for our University Art Gallery,” said Chantel Paul, SDSU School of Art and Design Galleries Coordinator. “Its title directly references the pandemic and our ability to all be on campus this semester, while at the same time acknowledging that we have not had an exhibition focusing on current faculty and staff on campus in many years.”

Professor Sofia Gonzalez, featured in the exhibition, is a new lecturer at the School of Art and Design, one of more than a dozen new faculty members to join the school this fall. She is eager to share her work with her students and colleagues.

“In addition to returning to in-person teaching this semester, I am also a new lecturer to the School of Art + Design,” said Gonzalez. “All Together Now provides a welcome opportunity to meet fellow faculty through their work and to share my personal work with the community and our students.”

The opening of All Together Now will launch the new School of Art and Design Open House Series in which the school’s campus galleries will be open to the public. Visitors can tour exhibitions, watch student demonstrations in the school’s classrooms and workshops, and see additional artistic programming and performances.

The SDSU School of Art and Design Open House Series will continue with another event on November 18, 2021, from 4:00 - 6:00 pm. Additional events are scheduled through spring 2022.
