What made you want to pursue a degree in Public Administration (PA)?

I chose to pursue a degree in PA and Sociology because I want to work in the public service field and be able to help underserved communities and act as a resource to students. Both of my majors have been very insightful and have given me the ability to view the world through a different perspective.

Why did you decide to serve as a peer adviser?

I chose to serve as a peer adviser because I plan to be an academic advisor in the future and work with college students. Having the ability to start early in the higher education field has given me experience and leadership skills that I can apply in the future. Connecting with students and seeing them navigate their college experience is also very rewarding.

What does being part of the SDSU community mean to you?

Being part of the SDSU community means being ONE. All of us here have shared experiences and these experiences have shaped us to be the students we are today. We can use these shared experiences to build deeper connections with each other and feel at home.

What advice would you give to students in the CJ or the School of Public Affairs (SPA) as they continue their studies and careers?

As you continue their studies and career journey, remember how far you have gotten on your own and be proud of your journey, as everyone’s journey is unique. No matter the time frame it takes to graduate or start a job, everyone has the ability to achieve their aspirations. I also recommend getting involved as much as you can because involvement leads to networking, friendship, and more opportunities.

What is your favorite place on campus?

The second floor of the Student Union.

What do you like to do outside of SDSU?

I enjoy binge watching Netflix shows, going to the beach, meditating, and going out to restaurants with friends.

What is one thing that fellow SPA students may not know about you?

I received my Associates degree in highschool!
