SDSU’s School of Art + Design students will have an opportunity to win cash awards and have their work included in the university’s permanent collection at the 22nd Annual Student Award Exhibition (SAE). The SAE is a juried exhibition of upper division and graduate student artwork as nominated by full time faculty. Created in the spring of 1999, the SAE demonstrates the University’s support of artistic excellence and diversity in student artwork by awarding cash purchase prizes to winning student artists. Numerous schools, colleges, and departments across the University participate in the SAE by reviewing submitted art work and purchasing a piece to display in their public spaces. Selected student work from years past can be seen in administrative offices throughout campus.

Student Award Exhibition winners express a great sense of pride and accomplishment and the monetary awards provide funds to help them continue and/or pursue new, creative endeavors.

This year’s exhibition runs Monday, March 9 – 24, 2020 in the University Gallery. Exhibition hours are Monday – Thursday from 10:00 – 3:00 pm. The SAE Award Ceremony and Reception will take place on March 19, 2020 from 4:00 – 6:00 at SDSU’s School of Art + Design, Art North, Room 412. All events are free and open to the public.
