A New Dean for PSFA and Outstanding Students

Dear Friends,
This time of year is always bittersweet as we say goodbye to more than 1500 PSFA students who walked across the stage and received diplomas. Each student takes their own path to commencement, and we applaud their persistence and commitment. I consider their stories and the engagement of so many who helped them reach this milestone. Families, friends, and of course our dedicated faculty and staff.
The college selected Matthew Tornero as PSFA’s outstanding graduate of 2019. A Theater, Television and Film major, he spent his time at SDSU serving as President and Vice President for the PSFA College Council; Executive Vice President and Treasurer for the Skull and Dagger Dramatic Society; and producing several short films. I hope you will take some time to read more about Matthew and the other outstanding graduates below. Each of their stories are compelling and these new alumni represent as well the collective promise and potential of their classmates. Our future is in good hands!
I also want to acknowledge our many donors who have supported PSFA academic programs through their generous donation of time, talent and treasure. We are grateful to all of you for your support.
As you know, Dr. Peggy Shannon will be joining SDSU as Dean of the College of Professional Studies and Fine Arts in early August. It has been my honor and privilege to serve as PSFA Interim Dean, and I will continue to serve the college as Associate Dean to ensure a smooth transition.
Warmest regards,
Donna Conaty
