The Dean’s Message - May 2017

Dear Friends,
The end of the academic year is upon us, and commencement is right around the corner. Although a busy time of year, it is one of my favorites. We are focused on student success, and I enjoy learning in detail about their experience at SDSU and their plans for the future. Each student takes his or her own path to commencement; I am always awed by the dedication and persistence of our students.
The college has selected Quinn Owen as the outstanding college graduate for 2017. A journalism major, he spent two semesters interning with national media organizations, and served as a junior staffer for ABC News, covering the west lawn of Capitol Hill during the presidential inauguration. I hope you will read more about Quinn’s experiences, as well as the other outstanding graduates in each school.
Best,
Joyce M. Gattas, Ph.D.
